Antique Victorian Mourning Brooch with Banded Agate & Oak Leaves in Gold

This incredible, heavy mourning brooch has a gorgeous banded agate centre stone in a Greek Key surround with oak leaves.

The Greek key pattern was meant to symbolize infinity or the eternal flow of life. The oak leaves can be used to symbolize strength or stability among other things.

Brooch was xray tested and is approx 9k (measuring between 7-10k in various parts). Total weight is approx 15.5g. Measures approx 1.5 x 1.4 inches

Condition note:
The glass on the reverse is broken. Unknown material under remaining glass. It does not appear as the normal hair but more like colored wool - perhaps a memento rather than a hair piece. Glass is removable. I’ve left in tact as I received it but likely wearer would want to remove or replace.
