Beautifully detailed antique Victorian gold coin (approx 90% gold) made into a pendant on a 14k marked gold chain. One side of the coin features what is referred to as the Indian Princess while the other side features a wreath with multiple elements and the worn denomination mark (1) as well as DOLLAR which is mostly worn. There is a legible date mark for 1862.
Era: 1862 as marked. Chain is more modern.
Markings: Chain is marked for 14k. Coin is unmarked for gold fineness but listed as 21k and x-ray tested for around 21-22k.
Metal: 21-22k gold coin and 14k gold chain.
Size: Total weight is 2.40g. Coin diameter is 14.97mm. Chain is approx 18 inches in length.
Condition: Coin is worn with age and is missing some letters on the word DOLLAR. The wreath and reverse side are in good condition. The chain is more modern. There is obviously a hole in the coin to turn it into a pendant for wearing.
This item is used/vintage so it has been previously loved. As such, it will show the normal signs of wear in the form of scuffs to the surface or wearing of details. Any obvious issues will be expressly detailed but none of our jewellery will be in perfect showroom condition due to it being vintage of antique.
