These lovely cut steel pieces were likely originally buttons or similar and changed in antiquity to screw back earrings. They feature flower cluster or snowflake shaped fronts made up of small flower style clusters of cut steel.
The earring portions are marked for sterling silver but the fronts would not be.
The reverse of the cut steel portion shows irregular rivets which would put it likely a little older as the rivets were changed from handmade as the style progressed.
Could be changed out to posts if desired but work as is.
There is some rusting to a couple places on the front of the earrings, which are noticeable up close but not so much when being worn.
Lovely, sparkly and historic! The best kind of jewelry.
Diameter of each earring front is approx 0.8 inches.
