Absolutely stunning sterling silver buckle brooch from the 1800s (Victorian). This piece has a long, sturdy brooch pin back complete with original c-clasp and tube hinge. There are two sections opposite that look like they once had a tube across which would likely have been used for a belt or scarf. This tube has been removed and the piece is now just a brooch.
This is a heavy piece with great detail on the front and 118 paste stones in graduating sizes. Stones are almost all clear with rainbow flashes in the light. A couple smaller stones are starting to yellow but not very noticeable yet. Edges are a pinched collet style on the outside.
