Amazing flashes of blue and green light up the face of this gorgeous navette ring. Almost every angle is a vibrant light show.
The ring has been appraised by a gemologist and found to be 14k (as hallmarked) with a believed to be solid black opal centre (graded when set, so cannot see the sides properly). The reverse shows a rounded black opal portion natural matrix (not a flat black background for color enhancement). There are some lovely etched details to the face of the ring and slight cutouts to the shoulder.
Opal is estimated to be 1.6 carats in size (9.5 x 7.5 x 3.5 mm).
Please note there are a couple of opaque “cloud-like” formations which originally were thought to be possible water spots in between layers but since this has been assessed as a solid opal, these may just be natural inclusions in an otherwise sensational opal stone. (In the light box photo these are more noticeable and appear on the left side.) Opal was gemologist reviewed in the bezel setting so assumed to be solid based on the presentation but could not be 100% confirmed as the sides of the stone could not be viewed.)
Currently a size 8 and sizable. Hallmarked for 14k and unknown makers mark.
Comes with recent appraisal with estimated value of $3,000CAD.
Box is not included but used as a prop only. Vintage boxes are also for sale in our shop, if required.
